$124.95 IF YOU PLEASE....

Hi Beautifuls!

I was so side-tracked w/the delivery of the current Barbie Collector catalog (Yes, I receive them. Lol.) that my intended post will be done later. Granted my days of playing with Barbie dolls have long since gone, I still love to admire the details and the high fashion of the Collector Editions. Goodness! Wish I could have a collection of my own. And of course, the fact that these dolls are beautiful creations that look like me, well.. sort of but you know what I mean (which is still not that common a sight) makes me want them even more. The designer of all of the dolls shown here is Mr. Byron Lars.

Let's take a looksie at a few of my favorites....

"Sugar"

"Pepper"

"Tatu" from the Treasures of Africa collection

"Nne" from the Treasures of Africa collection

And "Ayako Jones" is this fierce barbie at the top. Iwanther! Iwanther! Iwanther!

So $124.95 if you please. I'll take cash, check or money order. Or you could just send me the doll.

Lol.

Happy Friday, Beautifuls!!!

Hola Beautifuls!

I just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful weekend and Happy Valentine's Day all rolled into one. I'll be at cheerleader competitions at Cheersport Nationals all weekend. So wish our team luck and send up a prayer! I may not blog again until Wednesday, depending on my recuperation from this weekend's activities. But I'll definitely check in on everyone.

To all my fellow bloggers, subscribers, old and new followers of my blog and the lurkers I send you much love and wish you a wonderful day!

And as always, do you.

If you're wondering why I have a pair of Via Spiga "Fran" shoes up, it's just because they're pink and I think they're cute.

Peace and blessings,
CO

Happy Funky Friday!!

Beautifuls!, I was just perusing the net (still at work) and came across this smashing, fly doll!

Friday Foster®
With camera in hand, she enters the glamorous world of the jet-set...

Robert Tonner continues his tradition of being inspired by great pop-culture icons of the 20th century with his Friday Foster® Collection. Introduced in 1970, Friday Foster® was the first mainstream syndicated comic strip to feature an African-American woman. The strip told the story of Friday and her day to day world as a photo journalist. This also marks the first time Robert Tonner has explored the style of the 1970s in a primary fashion doll collection.

I just had to share!! I found this on the AngelicDreamz website!

Just wanted to wish you all a funky & fly Friday and weekend!!
Smooches!...

On My Wish List...

Good Morning Beautifuls!

I hope that you all are doing well. I played hookie yesterday. I have been trying to post this for the longest but hopefully today is a success.

I just had to share! The vision for my home decor is slowly coming about. I went onto HGTV's Find Your Style page to get an idea (or better yet name) of what my design style may be. The quiz results said that my style is "Ethnic Eclectic". This gave me a great explanation as to why I'm drawn to a bit of everything! I was actually relieved to know that it is an actual style instead of me simply having no clue.

On to my story... I've been searching for an Asian-style cabinet/armoire for my room. One with a couple of shelves and at least one drawer. My desire is to use it to house my hair products (on one shelf), my essential oils (for the 2nd shelf), and my blow dryer/flat iron and any other hair accessories for the drawer. Well, I was strolling through the Perimeter Place Shopping Plaza and happened upon a very interesting looking store called Kava Decor.

Kava Decor is a home decor boutique that I instantly feel for. It boasts the ethnic eclectic style that I've embraced. The smell of incense greets you as soon as you walk in the store. They play music from all of the world while you shop. Not exactly a place I would expect to find in or near Dunwoody, GA... Maybe Little Five Points or Virginia Highlands but this part of town??!! Nah, no way!!.. But I was pleasantly surprised! Kava is filled with uniquely designed furnishings for every room, lighting fixtures, floor treatments, accessories, art & more. I spoke w/Mor who is part owner of Kava (he's very helpful and informative). He expressed to me that artists help to supply his store. Impressive!

When I strolled to the back of this wonderful boutique I spotted my Asian-style armoire! Love at first sight! Talk about excited! This is what I've been looking for! Unfortunately, it's not in my current budget, but I'm working on that! This may have to be a "splurge of the month" item for me. **side note**..I honestly haven't been to the store in awhile. I'm afraid it may be gone. But I'll definitely keep you posted on that!

Anyhoo... I just had to share and let you all know about this wonderful store. If you like unique items or are just curious, go check Kava out. It's definitely worth the trip. Kava Decor is located at 4350 Olde Perimeter Way in the Perimeter Place Shopping District in the ATL. You can contact them at 770-351-9377 or visit them on the net at www.kavadecor.com.

The CW's Stylista!

Good Morning Beautiful!

I have a confession to make... While some reality shows really irk me, others totally capture my attention. Typically these attention grabbers have to do with fashion or style like "Project Runway", "Design Star", "What Not To Wear", and sometimes "ANTM". But last night I must say that I was hooked from the start to the CW's "Stylista"! The first show was crazy ridiculous! From the start there was catiness and breakdowns! I was like, "Damn! Already?!". If you didn't catch it, I would liken it to "The Devil Wears Prada".

In this first episode, all contestants were challenged to prepare breakfast for Elle Magazine's Fashion News Director, Anne Slowey, a demanding but highly respected fashion icon. The each had 45 minutes to get to the deli which was 6 blocks away, get back and prepare a healthy breakfast in a good presentation for Anne. Let me tell you, Ashlee (lone black lady) got lost and found the store seems like within the last 15 minutes. She returned to the office w/about 2 minutes left and pulled it together. She ended up winning the first challenge. Go girl!

Each contestant was also judged on their attire. One fella, William did look like he was straight off the set of the movie "Clockwork Orange". It was hilarious! Either way, I definitely feel like this show is worth checking out. The grand prize is a paid editorial at Elle magazine, a paid lease on a "Manhattan" apartment, and a clothing allowance at H&M all for one year. I'll take that! I also commend Tyra Banks. As one of the executive producers of the show, I must say that she is doing her thang! Work it Tyra!!

If you watched the show, what's your take on it?...
