Eager to hear some first hand reviews of the new Kinect. I'm still on the fence.
The games that are out for kinect are nothing really to write home about. joy ride was a blast, Kinect Adventures was ok. but those was the only two i played. but other then that the kinect responded very well, it didn't have a issue detecting motion nor detecting voice. two player works just as good as single player. my friend said his daughter loved the dancing game and it did just as well in that game.
its slow at first due to the lack of some better games, and people are looking at it like the 32x or sega CD and have mixed feelings about it. I think that will change in due time, look at some of the upcoming kinect enabled games.

That's too funny, so it is basically saying, "if apple just ceases all operations, research and development and everyone continues, they will fail." I think they are a bit smarter then that, they might as well of said, "If you stop selling your products, you wont make money."

OH MY GOD!!!! OK this only took 2 days to figure out.
My cable company (ssshhh Adelphia) does this thing called *Hardware Capture* which means the first computer to use the IP address in the only one that can. It saves the hardware code from your computer so it knows when it should and shouldn't ping it. Well i found this out and this is what i did.
1: I told them that I wanted to change my main computer to another, when I did that I hooked it up to the airport. And everything worked.

you could just say you walked into an att store and complained to them about something or threatened to leave and they gave you unlimited...like everyone else said though, they don't care.

The name is pretty lame and the "logo" is worse - most reasonable people will just think you misspelled published. Keep trying unless you don't care about brand. And as for Umlauts... don't use them unless you have a purpose other than hiding a bad mark.
I'm pretty sure that the people who are commenting that they like the name or the logo have little professional experience to back up their claim. Just because someone says something is good doesn't mean that it is.

Even that link you posted is overpriced. You don't need to look for apple-specific memory, you just need DDR3 1067MHz 204-pin SODIMMs

Same problem with the cover on the 17" PBook, but a Swiss Army knife blade works very nicely wgen you haven't got the right driver.

Damn ... seems like a lot of us have ruined our interviewability with you. http://forums.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=11368&stc=1
But people like that are almost annoying as the pompous fools that think they are better than everyone else, and deserve each and every mugging they get.

a 500 dually should be planty fast, although im not sure if those 2 500s act as a 1ghz in osx, or if the application has to be multithreaded
maybe somone could answer thatActs as two 500MHz CPUs, the OS does a decent job of handling the threads in Tiger now.
But most apps aren't really multithreaded, unless you take a look at some of the Pro apps.
Even with BSDs SMPng, people still say there are some problems with the way Tiger handles threads and a ways to go.
But there is a lot to like about OS Xs SMP capability also.
OS X is much better than OS 9, which would basically make use of the machine as a single 500 MHz machine -- except for the apps that make use of the multi-CPU extension for some of their filters and plug-ins.

Are "some people" your parents? It's relatively easy to fake a broken computer without actually harming it if you think about it -- but your request sounds sketchy to me.
The new i5 13 inch MBP performs better at some games and worse at others when comparing them to the previous generation. It's a compromise Apple had to make with this generation in order to get the Sandy Bridge processors. If gaming is important to you and money is tight I'd go for a PC with discrete graphics.

24" iMac and 13" MBA. I only need documents to be synced so that works easily with DropBox (I would do that even if I had only one computer). Of course, if you work with video or other big files, then DropBox is a no-go and file syncing in general may be a pain in your ass.
I really like having two computers. Sure it has its pros and cons but for me, the pros outweigh the cons. If I had only one computer, it would most likely be 15" MBP. By the time I bought my iMac, it wasn't as powerful as the iMac and it is nowhere near as portable as MBA.

Here's an interesting tidbit: just before the doors opened, one member of the security team started barking at people to put their cameras and cellphones away. He was even chasing down pedestrians on the other side of the street. Not sure what that B.S. was about, but as a photographer, I take exception to that sort of overreach. It's a public street, and last time I checked, the Apple store is not a post office, military base, or other government facility.
This was a rent a cop and not an Apple employee, right?
Maybe it was an audition to work at the Pentagon? ;-)

I'll lighten up when Apple includes a USB to FW adaptor for my shuffle, so I can use my $19 firewire cable Apple so much stiffed all the loyal Apple users.

Hi guys, wanted to see what people's thoughts are on the iPad 2 Launch in Solihull and if anyone had any news or info.
Far as I'm concerned I'll be there, from previous launches people turned up and queued around 5.30/6 in the morning, from info I got from Touchwood security, on 25th they will be opening the Poplar Entrance (near John Lewis) before any other door due to the problems with too many open at the same time, which in turn caused too much chaos at previous launches.car park queuers will be led to the back of the main entrance line to keep order so personally would be just easier to walk round to secure your space and avoid disappointment.
As normal touchwood don't tend to give much away so I was lucky to get any info at all but it sounded fairly well thoughtout to stop any apple madness happening.
If your going, good luck and share any info as I have and we can all hopefully enjoy a nice new iPad 2 come Friday.

Yes, the vyper or a case will offer good protection but they are bulky.
They're not bulky. The MBP in the Vyper will still fit easily in another case. Check the outer dimensions of the Vyper and you'll see it's only slightly bigger than the MBP itself.

I am looking for a 19" I think, and I do not have to have widescreen. Also, I think I want to stay away from dell. Just personal problems with some of their stuff in the past at work, and I hate the idea of helping Michael out. :o
Now that is not to say I am saying never on the Dell. What model Viewsonic?
Dell's LCDs are cheaper and better than Apple's anyway. Apple and Dell also both get them from LG (when it comes to Dell's widescreens.....not sure about the rest).
