right -- just tried 2-3 different ways to get some qt streams. indeed, i got a couple stations playing classical music (WGBH Boston, WCPE), but all the selections that were always there in the past are gone, e.g. npr, cnn, abc, bbc etc. either an error (-2129) on trying to open, or the blurb about channel selection having changed, please update your existing software. i have tried to update, and i assure, there are no updates available.

Possible but it would seem odd that apple would update the Mac Pro line twice within 2 weeks. I say this because I would expect the Mac Pro to be the first system to get Blu-Ray. Customers who bought the updated Mac Pros since CES would have an even greater reason to feel shafted than the iPhone people did with the price drop.
Apple does not have to offer new hardware.
They support many camera formats without manufacturing cameras by themselves.
They should offer OsX (10.5.2?) software support for bd/hdcp and update for Dvd Studio Pro, which had last update before intel-macs... was it 2005...?
MP owners can buy new drive by themselves. That's what upgradeability means.
This whole "we want consumers to rent from iTunes, so we are not going to support new optical hd formats" thing cripples FCS badly, so pro's will be looking to adobe's offer instead.

Question is in the title. Any thoughts? I know there was an Apple computer that sold for quite a bit a few weeks ago, but I'm sure it was way older. It's in perfect condition and I even have an old Apple printer for it (which works as well). Thanks. :apple:

Thanks for the replies! I just found it odd for their to be ads in the background like that, which are only visible for a micro-second. I would also never pirate an iOS app and was simply curious if those ads went away after purchasing as they were kind of annoying.
It seems weird that the trial version contains advertisements. I would think the trial would be the same as the full version. Anyway, did you get it to work with FaceTime on 4.3.2? I haven't been able to get it to work since updating, and was wondering if I was alone with this problem.

Can any of the 2011 iMac owners check if any of the components in their newly bought iMac operate underclocked?
Apple has, in the past, been known to do this to maintain a certain power consumption or thermal level.
This could explain some of the "low" scores we are seeing of late.

power support makes by far the best dry install protectors out there. I too don't like wet install kits, and all other dry installs besides power support are less sturdy...often having tears in the protector before you even install it

I think we'll see differences in capabilities, the 360 has a great general purpose processor with 3 cores and great graphics card, the PS3 has a good graphics card but the processor is what it shines.
360 games might look better but its possible PS3 games might have more stuff going on and or better physic models at the expense of lower resolutions and possibly less shader intensive graphic effects.
I mean really the hardware in these two is completely different and cell is quite an specialized architecture.
Maybe we should have this argument 2 years from now, right now X360 and PS3 have exact graphics (the difference is neglible unless looking hard for it side by side).
In any case, any console purchase should be based on what games it can run not console's performance.

I have a white iPhone 4, so i'll tell you about my experience.
Mine doesn't work, but it's an easy fix. I haven't bothered though.
It works fine.
It is not, but the proximity sensor doesn't work on more conversions than the earpiece not working.
The camera is fine. Even the flash is fine.

Anyone spoken to them to confirm if they have a reservation list at all?
I checked with the store to see if they were doing pre-orders/reservations but they said that it would be on a first come, first served basis. It looks like Orange have back tracked on it as they originally said that they would be taking pre-orders.
I was thinking of heading there for about 7/7:15 ish too. The lady I spoke to yesterday at the store said that as long as you are there by about 7:45 it should be ok but that it depends on the numbers in the queue. However she didn't know what the stock would be so it was a guess.
Guess I'll see you there :)

Thanks for the advice all. I am still thinking about it, but since the newer model is going to come out next year I may go with the newer one.
On the other hand, a good rule of thumb is never to buy a first generation of anything. In this case, a new design...so we will see.

generally it's quite useful.
That's fair enough, but I honestly didn't find any significant utility in it all. Is there a benefit to having fonts activated and deactivated on the fly?
I'm not being snotty -- I'm genuinely curious!
Cheers

ha! i actually bought this cd off itunes a few months ago. could do with some more sequencing and layering. but what it is great for is sampling. i took one of the ink cartridge hitting the side of the caseing sounds and processed it into a kick drum. heres a rough mix.

Might get the second, i've heard great things about i7. Also i've heard wifi is better on MB because the aluminum interferes on the MBP?
With a MBP you get a newer processor that won't be outdated nearly as fast as a C2D. You also get thunderbolt. It may not mean anything to you now since there are not that many thunderbolt devices but there will be in the future, and you get a better graphics card in a MBP than in the MB. You get Intel HD 3000 in the MBP and NVIDIA Geforce 320M in the MacBook. The Intel has 384MB whereas the NVIDIA has 256MB

Any idea if usually it's any better than lining up in downtown?
Not sure. Only time I was there was for iPhone 4 last year and lines were insane. Really have nothing to compare it to lol.
