My question for discussion would be: 1) would you consider buying a used LCD monitor off of ebay? 2) What new 19" LCD would you recommend in the $450 price range?
I've heard good reviews about the Dell 1905FP 19", which is going for around ~$300 on eBay. Froogle gives PointShop.com as the lowest at $383 (http://froogle.google.com/froogle_url?q=http://www.pointshop.com/Mall/Catalog/Product/ASP/engine/Froogle/product-id/782389/store-id/1000044893.html&fr=AB_gAT4s7plo8-aKXbksvDLeE_AAEU68rdnh_5QmTdDHAAAAAAAAAAA) .
Or you could spend $250 more and get an (open box) Apple 20" (http://www.techforless.com/cgi-bin/tech4less/M8893ZLL/A?mv_pc=froogle). :D

I dont know how to post photos or else i would post how it looks.
It will serve my purpose for interviews.
Here is the list of the gear.

Where you define the code, you need to put in classname::functionname
Do this for every function you define. This need not be done if you are within the class declaration.
void login::find()
{
ifstream file;
file.open("file.txt");
string input=inputusername;
string input_line;
bool found = false;
while( file >> input_line ) {
if( input_line.compare(input) == 0 ) {
cout << "The name " << input_line << " was found in file.\n";
found = true;
break;
}
}

I'd buy a DSi if I was buying for 1 game. We have them for sale for around €100 brand new now. Considering 3DS is retailing at €260 here that's one hell of a difference.
DSi = 13 hour battery life, less than 1/2 price
3DS may be more powerful, but 2.5-3 hour battery life & twice the price to do what?
play a game designed for the ds. It seems like a poor trade off.

Yes, it does, but you must have a certain post count to reach it.
MacRumors 6502, or 250 posts if I remember correctly, as well as 8 months of membership to the forum.
This is all from memory so my numbers could be off a bit.

Hi,
I'm sure I'm duplicating another thread, but I can't find an explanation here or on Apple.com's support forum!
I'm a novice server admin running a server at a church, which we use primarily for web hosting and file sharing. We have our main website hosted on the server... which works well. It's super easy to update the website with iweb -- and super easy for everyone else who's not so into computers.
I'm trying to bring that same ease to updating our Children's Center website with iWeb and hosting it on the server. It's currently hosted on GoDaddy's web hosting, which has awful customization settings. I'm trying to switch us from GoDaddy's hosting to web hosting on the mac.
So far, by changing GoDaddy's DNS info to point to our dyndns host, I can get our GoDaddy domain to point to the server.... but it loads the church's website! I have set up a new Web Site in Server Admin with the Web Folder pointing to the output of iWeb (just as the church's website is set up). I have also tried two different DNS setups from browsing the interwebs (all morning), neither of which work.
1) I've set up (childrenscenter).org as a Primary Zone with a Web Service running underneath. The web service points to the Machine ID of the church's Primary Zone, which points to the address of the server. (which, I understand, should point it to the web service, which would point it to the right folder, but no! Argh)
2) I read elsewhere to set up my second site as an alias under my Primary Zone... so I tried that, simply pointing (childrenscenter).org to (server.church).org, which, also, should point to the Machine ID, to the address of the server, to the children's center website!
What am I doing wrong? Im thinking my DNS is set up right but I guess I dont know how to set up the web services properly. Ideally, Id like to keep any tinkering within Server Admin, as I can teach a dedicated volunteer to do that easier than using a terminal command or editing some obscure file.
Thanks in advanced. :)

Lol he looks like an old hippy teaching creative writing or something at a csu. He is so dangerous he has to be kept in solidary and the entire cuban inmate population had to jump him and tackle him to subdue him in the 80s prison riots -- because the federal govt wouldnt deal with the cubans if he was still lose. They even had to escort him recently in a Hanibal lector suit at some recent gag trials.

"Carter said defense lawyers could call Tommy Silverstein as a witness but warned the notorious Aryan Brotherhood leader known as "Terrible Tom" would be shackled in court "just like a 'Silence of the Lambs' character."
Silverstein killed a guard in 1983 at Marion federal prison in Illinois after slipping his handcuffs with the help of another gang member and pulling a concealed foot-long knife.
Silverstein, who has also been convicted of killing three other inmates, is the nation's most heavily guarded prisoner, according to prosecutors. He is confined to a special cellblock in the basement of Leavenworth Penitentiary in Kansas.
"He will come out here in chains and sit there in chains," Carter said in a pretrial hearing on Friday."

Hate to break it to you crenz, but Panther won't run on beige G3s.
I'm in the same boat with my 400 MHz minitower. The choice is either stick with Jaguar (decent enough) or upgrade EVERYTHING!
Who knows? Maybe there will be a beige-box hack out there come January...

but of note:
The specialty program "A Day at the Office: Microsoft Office 2008" will be ending with a panel session with the MacBU group at 6:30 on Monday and I will be attending... I assume no one else here will have this problem, but just saying.

Just so you know there are no military applications that benefit from this.
The training programs the military uses for training would benefit from this, though I have not seen them in person because they are classified I am told they take up a massive amount of disk space and everything in the simulation is correct in terms of physics. Though these programs run on Linux and not Mac.

Two notes for you:
1) Why have you not told us what your device is? At least the class of device? This could at least get us to the point of knowing if we should expect the OS to have a generic HID divice driver for this class of device. If there is no generic class driver, then: yes, absolutely you will need to create a device driver (and no, it is not going to be easy).
Unless you ask good questions, you should expect nothing but bad answers.
2) This is not the sort of forum where you should expect to find people who can write drivers. This is a user-level forum. If you need help writing device drivers, then your best bet (short of paying someone who knows how to write device drivers on the Mac) is going to be on Apple's Darwin-drivers list (http://lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/darwin-drivers).

If I remember correctly I needed the jumper on 1.5 for my xserve but I left everything alone on all the other xserves even my g5. I want to say something else about my old trusty g5....it have a slightly faster network transfer rate than all my other xserves
OK I tried a 3tb Hitachi in my 2009 xserve and it only reports 2.2tb, so I think 2.2 is the limit.

Question:
Should a mac pro server have less speed and more grunt, whereas a workstation have more speed and less grunt?
Thoughts and feelings on it
( I have to deploy some osx servers but a master workstation does a huge amount of work, so trying to spend the cash best)
It's best to have both more grunt and speed for either :)
Otherwise it depends on the applications you use, if your apps take full advantage of multi-core/parallel processing than you would gain more from
dual procs at lower speed than one at high. For servers it's always high i/o, multiple requests and threads, so the more cores and RAM the merrier.
