I also agree with the first post that this mouse is very nice with multiple bottons and accurate tracking. I boutht it at Staples and I paid $59 as they were on sales. I think other main retailors are selling at over $70.
I am thinking about getting the second one for my other PB.

There are a lot of lessons to be learned here. It's a new world out there.
Yes, believe nothing that you read, and only half of what you see. :D

Their solution seems to be working well:
Bitch about it on the internet, get lots of coverage and offers of support, and with some hard work, get it sorted out.
(Note: I would also bitch loudly about it if the same thing happened to me)

The best is to create a Wallpapers folder anywhere you want (preferably in the Images folder, situated in your User folder).
Then, just add it to the list in the preference pane (see attached pic).

Personally, I think it's a refresh rate issue which I think is a software issue. If I put any of my LCDs on the wrong refresh rate, they have identical lines to those of the powerbook.

How do I get to it? PBfixit.com says its behind a little door inside the battery compartment. That door isn't there. Do I have to take the logic board off?

they need more consistency if anything between their apps. It feels as if I'm buying several different programs from different companies rather than a suite. MS Office is almost a better suite

I'm curious about this question too... I have the same situation but I have 8gb of RAM... what's better to have 8gb at 1067 or 4gb at 1333?
...if your usage needs to have more than the 4Gb of RAM avail then its better to have 8Gb at the slightly lower bandwidth then paging to your HDD with 4Gb of RAM at a slightly higher bandwidth...

PRAM/NVRAM has nothing to do with the OP's issue.
Mac OS X: What's stored in PRAM
When to reset NVRAM or PRAM
SMC might help with some fan, unexpected power-offs or slow performance issues, but not heat-related shutdowns, as the OP described.
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
My apologies. I've always just done a PRAM reset after an SMC reset, as kind of a "cover all bases" kind of thing.
Thanks for pointing that out though. :) Funny thing is, I've read that article before, but I was never actually sure what exactly was stored in PRAM, woe is me!

Indeed. I just spent 3-4 hours restoring my phone after updating to 4.3.2. I will update whence iOS 5 doth show itself.
Besides, I think the tracking thing is pretty neat :D

Just wait until more statistics are generated - then you'll see the revealing numbers.
Numbers!!???? I want more than NUMBERS ... I want the blood of the unforgiving weak minded X86 cronies who polute my eyes during every waking moment of my working hours.....
Fortunately I spend most of my work day asleep at my desk, thus quelling any urges to kill the fools ........
Second pointless rant aside, I'm gonna reckon that this may be the biggest selling PPC unit in the last 4 years, and the design of it, unlike it's 2nd gen predecessor that I love and want buried with me, gives scope for far more development of upgrade and improve.
I sense a second wave of the post '98 good times ...

Well I finally decided to take the Mini to the Genius Bar and see what they had to say about the noise coming from the Superdrive on some of these bad discs.
As soon as he heard it he said we'll replace the Superdrive. That was Saturday. Got a call today to come and pick it up. Got it and now at home and ripping Cars which was one of the noisy discs from before and........
Whisper quiet!!!! I couldn't even hear the Superdrive spin up!!! So happy I took it in, and now with most my DVD collection behind me I won't have a worn out drive when all finished.

What's so wrong with filtering search results by language? If you're a chinese business person living in New York, would have to go to the localized app store to find a chinese language app?

someone submitted a track off this album to DailyTunes a while back, and I refused to post it thinking it was a joke, like the person who submitted a track from the fart album. Agreed, it's different, but not in a good way. This album is a prime example of a middle-aged person living in mom's basement and collecting computer parts and recording equipment. Now he has an outlet for selling the 'songs' to fund his growing collection. :D

Well right now I have two computers; my MacBook and my windows PC. I had the PC before hand so all of my files were on that; when I got the Mac I transfereed all of the important things over (pictures, school documents), and kept the movies and things like that on the old computer.
I take my Mac with me, the PC stays at home. Everything I do now is on the Mac, however whenever I download movies, tv shows, things like that I watch them on the 19 inch monitor I have hooked up to the windows laptop.
However for transferring a few files between I use DropBox; great little program that syncs everything in a free 2gb folder to unlimited computers (and devices like Android, iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad).

I do have an idea which could help Apple. If they want to hear it they can email me.
What is your opinion on Cisco and Apple's dispute?
I'm sure they are dying to hear your plan.
I say may the best man (company) win. To be honest, and this is just opinion, I think Cisco threw the "iPhone" out there because they knew the real iPhone was coming (as did we all) and wanted to bank on it somehow, just like I'm sure iPhone-related email addresses were swiped up recently too.
I could be wrong, but prove it.
